How to Manage Users: Staff, Invitations, and Ownership
Use Users to control who can access your store, what they can do, and who owns the account. This guide walks you through inviting team members, monitoring invitations, and transferring ownership.

Transfer store ownership
If the business changes hands (or you want a different primary owner), you can transfer ownership.
Important: Transferring ownership moves full account control (including billing and settings) to another user. Make sure the recipient’s email is correct and that you trust the new owner.
Steps
Go to the Owner tab.
Click Transfer Ownership.
Select the recipient and confirm.

Best practices
Principle of least privilege: Start with the fewest permissions and add more as needed.
Rotate access regularly: Remove former staff and contractors promptly.
Keep ownership stable: Limit ownership changes to legal/structural changes in your business.
Use work emails: Invite users with a company email to keep access centralized.
Troubleshooting
The invitee didn’t get the email → Ask them to check spam; use Resend or Copy link from Invitations.
Invite expired → Cancel the old invite and send a new one.
Can’t transfer ownership → Ensure the target is an active user and has verified their account.
Permissions not saving → Refresh the page and try again; confirm you have admin rights.
